About Us

A4L_symbol_no_backgroundxPress APIs are developed by a global, membership driven community  – the Access 4 Learning (A4L) Community – made up of educational policymakers, marketplace product & service providers, and the customers they serve; all collaborating daily to address real world learning and resource issues.

Why is the A4L Community developing xPress APIs?

The A4L Community is a ‘membership driven’ association, therefore our focus is on providing solutions for real-world ‘use cases’ and the issues of our members.  We believe that educational institutions, parents and school administrators must have access to state-of-the-art tools populated with up-to-date information in order to make effective use of a myriad of diverse resources. These resources, when combined effectively produce an effective learning environment for all students.

Seamless integration of a broad a spectrum of instructional, administrative and communication tools is an essential foundation for an environment that addresses the needs of all learners. Students, teachers, and institutions have different needs, requiring solutions to be customizable and scalable.

xPress APIs are developed from real-world use cases, with an explicit focus on practical, easy to implement solutions that use contemporary technologies.

How do xPress APIs differ from other marketplace solutions?

xPress APIs are designed with the end-user in mind, and are designed to meet a specific ‘use case’
xPress APIs keep you in control of your data…. data is not ‘collected’ and ‘provided’ to other applications without your authorization.
xPress APIs do not ‘store’ data… they move it between applications securely and in a timely manner
